Phases and Parallels
Mixed media on fabric, stretched over pieces of wood, mounted on a wooden board
serial work
2019/2020
Like skin the canvas stretches over the frame. Bumps, tension, wrinkled areas. What is going on underneath? It’s a body in all its dimensions. It’s almost alive, it’s physical, it’s everything but smooth.
The depth and flow of surface energy is tangible, and with the painting it forms an image. The paint matter is scanning every pore and mirrors different life forms and parallel existences - linked, in fragile dependency, demarcating territories, in coexistence. It’s a phase, it can change.
