This publication follows my residency ‘Thread’ in Sinthian, Senegal. Program of the ‘Josef and Anni Albers Foundation'
Together with Gabriele Franziska Götz, who did the graphic and editorial design, we took our time to let the textures and content of my new works, developed during my stay at 'Thread', unfold page by page and create something that stands on its own. Slowing down the pace makes it possible to better grasp the layers and the intrinsic meaning of these paper works, Sought by Shadows.
They are the result of a complex interplay of cutouts, endless layers of paint on paper, and a mounted pyrographic drawing forming one work. In total I created a series of 11 pieces, each 65×50cm.
